Free roam is the shared Bayview session. Turn on Free roam with others, drive out of the airport, and the nearest players’ cars appear. Crews keep friends visible at any distance, up to 16 crew-mates, and they are not private. Rooms filter which cars you see, and the project says a room is not privacy. Quick chat sends one of about 150 set phrases. There is no free typing.

Evidence note: figures attributed only to one publication or to the project's own documentation are single-source reports. The project site, README and playing notes count as one source group. Sources and checked dates are shown with each fact.
The airport exit note is the detail I kept re-reading: a new career starts in the car park, and the game asks you to keep right for 15 seconds while other players are around. Hans-Jørgen’s video is the crowd. The phrase list and the crew cap are only in PLAYING.md, so they are marked that way.
Type the same crew name under Settings, Online, Crews, or from the F9 menu. Capitals and spaces do not count. A slur is rejected. Colors start as cyan, magenta, violet, and red. Other players do not learn your crew list. The server only tells each game which nearby players share a name.
A room shows fewer cars. It does not hide your name. The notes say every browser on the server can still see your name, whether you are in a menu, and the room string. Play where you would accept that.
Hold N to honk. Choices include dual tone, air horn, train horn, La Cucaracha, and a sad trombone. Volume is the game’s Horn Volume slider. Quick chat is keys 1–4 twice. The starter grid is Hey, Nice car, Thanks, Bye, Yes, No, Sorry, lol, Follow me, Wait up, Let’s go, Nice, Race, Join my race, gg, and One more.
Ghost mode is off by default, so you collide. It is also forced near shop doors, on a car that has been used to block a road, and near an event start you have open. Those rules are project text. They are not a city ordinance.
Keep right out of the airport is the one line the game itself prints. Everything else — don’t park the Hummer in the tunnel, don’t spam the train horn — is courtesy, not a published ruleset. The project does not list bans or a report button in the pages we read.

Share a crew name. You still see everyone else. A room filters cars and is not a private server.
No. Phrases are chosen from a list so each language shows its own line.
Nothing we read gives an expiry. A crew over 64 players in one room loses the far-away pairing.
Ghost mode, a paused player, a car idle for a minute, a shop door, or the anti-block rule. The notes list each case.
The notes say the bank pays or charges as in an outrun against a tuner. They do not print a dollar figure.
