UNDERGROUND 2 REVIVED

Underground 2 Revived controls

The browser build keeps the PC game’s keys and adds a page menu on F9. Xbox and PlayStation pads work after you press a button. Logitech G29, G920, and G923 wheels steer with no force feedback. Touch controls appear on phones while you drive. Change keys inside the game under Options, Controls. The horn stays on N.

What I checked

I copied the control tables from the project’s PLAYING.md rather than from memory of the 2004 manual. A second check is the start-page screenshot in the same repository, which lists Controls next to Play. I have not driven a G29 against this build, so the wheel section stays with the project’s own wording and the GitHub issue that mentions a G29.

Keys the project lists

The in-game Options screen can rebind driving keys. These page-level keys are called out by name.

Controller and wheel

Triggers are throttle and brake. The left stick steers. LB is nitrous, RB the handbrake, A and X shift, Y and B are camera and look back, View respawns, Start pauses. D-pad up starts an event or accepts an outrun. In free roam the right stick flicks through quick chat.

A G29-family wheel uses the wheel to steer, pedals for throttle and brake, and paddles to shift. Full lock is a quarter turn of a 900° wheel unless you run Set up the wheel under Controls, Controller. The clutch does nothing. A Driving Force shifter is treated as sequential. Rumble works in Chrome for pads that support it, and not in Firefox.

Touch

The right thumb has gas, brake, nitrous, and handbrake. Steering is buttons by default, or a thumb stick, or tilt. Manual gears sit above the steering control. Small buttons along the top cover pause, camera, look back, and reset. In free roam they also cover the map, messages, horn, and Start. Sizes are under the Touch tab and stay in that browser.

Questions

How do I look around the car?

In the garage, drag with the middle mouse button. On a touch screen, drag with two fingers. Photo mode (F12) frees the camera while you drive.

Does a wheel work?

The project documents G29, G920, G923, and other pads the browser exposes. There is no force feedback. Only the project docs describe the axis map in this detail.

Can I rebind keys?

Yes, in the game’s Options, Controls. N remains the horn.

Why does Esc leave fullscreen in Firefox?

The notes say Firefox has no keyboard lock, so Esc exits fullscreen immediately. Pause with P while fullscreen there.

Where is quick chat?

Keys 1 to 4 twice, a right-stick flick on a pad, or the chat button on touch. Details are on the free-roam page.
