Underground 2 Revived is the browser project at nfsu2.xyz. It runs the 2004 PC game with WebGPU in current Chrome or Firefox. There is no installer and no EA account. Free roam and the game’s Online menu both use the project’s own server. This page is an independent guide. It does not host the game.

Not an EA store release. The repository is th0mk/nfsu2-web.

The public site does not ask you to install a client. A self-hosted copy is a different path and does ask for your own PC files.

Evidence note: figures attributed only to one publication or to the project's own documentation are single-source reports. The project site, README and playing notes count as one source group. Sources and checked dates are shown with each fact.
I lined up the project start page, the GitHub playing notes, and three October 2026 videos (VRacer on the 22nd, Hans-Jørgen on the 21st, FSXNOOB on the 25th). The first control on the public site is Play, not a download button. I did not invent a lap time. Where a number comes from only one place, I say so below.
GitHub records the repository th0mk/nfsu2-web as created on 19 October 2026. Caradisiac and the FSXNOOB video describe a public appearance on 20 October. TheGamer’s Sam Woods wrote on 22 October that the 2004 game was playable in the browser, with a 120 fps ceiling, widescreen, and free roam. Those dates agree on a window, not on a single launch-clock time.
The README describes a static recompile of the PC code to WebAssembly, Direct3D 9 mapped to WebGPU, and Web Audio. TheGamer describes the same public result without calling it a remake. Treat the UE5 driving demo and the Android ports as different projects. They are compared on the versions page.
The project’s own player endpoint, saved in our research on 27 October 2026 at 22:36 UTC, reported 4,806 players, 432 in Online, and 1,592 in free roam. That is one source. TheGamer separately wrote that more than 1,000 people were in Bayview around 3am ET on 22 October. The hero chip uses the 27 October total and labels it as a snapshot. It is not a live feed.
If you want the steps, start with how to play. If a download or APK result brought you here, read download and APK before you install anything. Link typos belong on nfsu2.xyz and the misspellings. Safety scores that disagree with each other are on is it safe.
This guide hosts a playable copy. It does not. The public instance is on nfsu2.xyz, and that host refuses to be embedded.
There is an EA-authorized installer. No current GOG or EA product page for this edition was found on 28 October 2026. See the download page.
A PS5 edition shipped with this project. No. The console question is answered on the PS5 page with store searches, not a rumor.
VRacer walks through the nfsu2.xyz start page, a save restore, and an online race on 22 October 2026. Uploaded 2026-10-22. The player loads only after this click.
Hans-Jørgen drives Bayview with other players in the browser build, filmed 21 October 2026. Uploaded 2026-10-21. The player loads only after this click.
A browser project that runs the 2004 PC version of Need for Speed Underground 2. The project site is nfsu2.xyz. This domain is a guide.
No. nfsu2.xyz sends X-Frame-Options: DENY and a frame-ancestors none policy, checked 28 October 2026. Use the project site, or read the download page for why there is no file here.
The public site does not charge or ask for an EA account. TheGamer and the project page both say that.
You do not install a client. The first visit transfers about 7 MB of code, then streams data. An optional preload is about 2 GB in the project notes. Two videos report 2.0 GB and 2.9 GB. Those figures are kept separate on the play page.
Repository creation is 19 October 2026. Press and a video place the public appearance on 20 October. Use that window.
The guide operator is listed on the about page. Mail goes to [email protected]. The game project is operated by the nfsu2.xyz maintainers, not by this site.
