PS2 browser port versus the PC browser project
nfsunderground2.site plays a PS2-derived build in the browser. Coverage and the site’s own description, as recorded in our research, put rooms at two players, saves on a virtual PS2 memory card, and performance as unoptimized. nfsu2.xyz plays the PC recompile, with free roam beyond two people and browser profiles. Spanish write-ups sometimes describe the PS2 port while the headline says “navegador.” That mix-up is why this page exists. A Tarreo article dated 18 October 2026 is one example: it is about the PS2 web recompile, not about nfsu2.xyz.

Evidence note: figures attributed only to one publication or to the project's own documentation are single-source reports. The project site, README and playing notes count as one source group. Sources and checked dates are shown with each fact.
What I checked
I read the Tarreo piece far enough to see the PS2 project named, then stopped treating it as a source for the PC site. nfsu2.net’s comparison is the second independent write-up that separates the two browser projects. I do not have a side-by-side frame-time test. The performance cell stays qualitative.
What changes for a player
If a guide tells you to insert a virtual memory card, you are on the PS2 port. If it tells you about an nfsu2-xyz- keyphrase, you are on the PC project.
| PS2 browser port | PC browser project | |
|---|---|---|
| Host | nfsunderground2.site | nfsu2.xyz |
| Codebase | PS2 recompile | PC static recompile to Wasm |
| Other players | 2-player rooms | Free roam and Online races |
| Saves | Virtual memory card | Browser profile, optional cloud phrase |
| Graphics path | Not WebGPU in the PC notes | WebGPU |
Why Spanish and Portuguese results blur them
“En el navegador” is true of both. The larger Spanish article we checked was about the PS2 recompile associated with snuri00. Our Spanish page says that in the first paragraph so the query does not land on the wrong steps.
Questions
Which browser Underground 2 should I open?
For the October 2026 PC multiplayer story, nfsu2.xyz. For the PS2 port, nfsunderground2.site. They are not mirrors.
Can two friends play the PS2 one?
Descriptions say two-player rooms. They do not say Bayview free roam.
Will my PC save appear there?
No source we used shows a converter.
Why does the PS2 site rank for online?
It is online, in a smaller sense. The query does not specify the engine.
Does this guide host either game?
No. Both links leave this domain.
